At Classic Electropolishing we provide passivation services for a variety of metals. Passivation is done to stainless steel to make it less "passive" or in other less affected by outside element and corrosion. It is a light coat of material, such as metal oxide to protect against the elements. Often passivation is a smaller part of the electropolishing process.
Stainless Steel is corrosion resistant by nature but that does not mean it is fully protected from the elements including rusting. For instance, rouging can happen when embedded bits of matter allow water to penetrate them and begin the oxidation process. Compared to the pricing for electropolishing, pricing for passivation services is much more affordable. Typically, passivation can be done as a batch whereas electropolished parts need to be individually racked and clear from touching each other.
Classic Electropolishing provides passivation to the highest standards.
